strong emotions stimulate the human nervous system, causing the sweat glands to produce more sweat. this change is recorded by a galvanic skin resistance sensor. heart rate is an important indicator of physical and mental state. anxiety and stress cause the heart rate to increase. how many times the heart beats per minute is measured by the pulse sensor.
the data from the arduino sensors was processed by a code written in the arduino ide and visualised using figma.
a transparent housing for the sensors was chosen to create an association of a fortune-telling glass sphere and the transparency of making feelings visible
as a representation of the sensor values and associated states of emotions I experimented with black and white shapes.
to conceptually represent the emotions, I chose a moebius eye consisting of two segments of narrowing lines.
the appearance of the moebius eye varies according to the rotation of the elements. the upper left part is associated with skin resistance, the lower right with the human heartbeat. the angle of rotation of the element is taken directly from the measured value of the sensors.
at the annual exhibition, visitors were invited to place their hands on the sensors to see for themselves how the shapes moved.
